Join the 2025 Dry July Challenge

1/07/2025

Dry July is back for 2025 and it's your chance to do something amazing for your health while supporting Australians affected by cancer.

Every July, thousands of Australians commit to going alcohol-free (dry) for a month. It's a simple challenge with a big impact. By raising funds through sponsorships, participants support programs that provide care, comfort and practical support to cancer patients and their families.

Why Go Dry This July?

Going dry for a month can do wonders for your health. In fact, past Dry July participants have reported benefits such as:

  • sleeping better
  • more energy
  • better concentration
  • weight lost
  • a sense of achievement

Cutting back on alcohol also reduces your long-term risk of serious conditions like high blood pressure, liver disease and seven types of cancer, including breast and bowel cancer.

So Dry July is a great way to raise awareness about the role alcohol plays in our daily lives and to reflect on the health benefits of drinking less.

Plus, all funds raised go directly to services such as wellness programs, transport to treatment, accommodation for families join-the  and equipment to make hospital stays more comfortable.

You Don't Have to Go it Alone

You can join as an individual or rally your mates, colleagues, or community group to sign up as a team. You can even choose to take a “Dry(ish) July" committing to just a few alcohol-free days each week and still make a difference.

How to Get Involved

  1. Visit www.dryjuly.com
  2. Sign up and set your fundraising goal
  3. Enjoy the benefits of going dry for a good cause

Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned Dry July-er, this year's challenge is a great opportunity to support people living with cancer and feel better while you do it.

Important note: For some people, suddenly stopping drinking can make them feel physically and emotionally unwell. If you feel you cannot stop, or experience sweatiness, nausea or shaking within days of not drinking – you may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms and should see your doctor.
